All the Most Special and Most Beautiful
Places in Italy
Skip this instructions if you wish to look around first, read them when you are ready for a bit more detailed use of this website: Every item on the list is accompanied by an information page that offers the best overview of that item (usually Wikipedia, but not always) and a Google Street View point for starting your visual exploration of the item. English Wikipedia is presented before the Italian Wikipedia by default. The opposite happens when the Italian page is a lot more representative than its English counterpart. In both cases you really should pay attention to the Italian Wikipedia as there is usually more to see. For items that contain more than one place, Italian Wikipedia often offers a better overview with more places and more photos. You might not understand the language, but the structure is the same. If you are on a desktop computer, use one of Wikipedia's brilliant features: hover over links for quick previews. With Google Street View number one priority was visually the best spot (though, Google might change it with updates) that also enables you to walk around. However, Google sometimes offers only 3D photos at certain isolated spots and you cannot walk around. To choose between these spots, you will have to exit Street View (X in the upper right corner), possibly zoom in (+ button in the bottom right corner), then click on the yellow man icon and choose a different spot on the map.
